Apple brings to a halt the much anticipation of the crowd with its recent release of the smallest version of the iPad tablet, the iPad mini. The device was officially unveiled on Tuesday at an Apple event which had taken place in San Jose.
Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president for marketing had laid down the features of the iPad mini.As you would have guessed, the iPad mini dons a 7.9 inch touchscreen display, remarkably smaller to the 9.7-inch screen of the original iPad. This device boasts a lightweight feature, weighing only 0.68 pounds. Another feat that would certainly compel you is it that is even thinner than a pencil, just 7.2 mm thick. And just like the original ones, this mini version also has front and rear cameras.
The iPad mini comes in two denominations, the 16GB and 64GB version. Each version rolls up with different prices. The 16GB model with WiFi connectivity will run you $329. If you choose the 16GB equipped with both WiFi and cellular capability, it will then cost you $459. A much heftier price at $659 comes with the 64GB version with features ofWiFi and cellular connectivity.
Apple surely knows how to keep the crowd hyped out. Along with the release of the iPad mini is also the let loose of the latest add-up to the iPad original line-up, so-called iPad 4. In the event, Schiller also stated that furthering 275, 000 apps in Apple’s App Store were now up for downloads for iPad devices.
The iPad mini is reported to be available for pre-ordering beginning on October 26 and you can choose from either black or white models. Shipping of WiFi versions will kick off on November 2. Shipments will be headed to about three dozen countries around Asia, Europe and United States. Mark your calendars and be the first to get a hand of this goodie.
